Improper disposal of e-waste creates an environmental nightmare.

E-waste contains toxic heavy metals such as mercury, lead, chromium, cadmium, beryllium, hexavalent chromate plus other toxic materials. Contracting with a non-certified recycler, your equipment may end up being illegally shipped overseas or dumped in domestic landfills.

In 2017, all of that year’s end-of-life refrigerators, TVs, mobile phones, computers, monitors, e-toys and other products with a battery or electrical cord worldwide could fill a line of 40 ton trucks end-to-end on a highway straddling three quarters of the Equator. - From Solving the E-Waste Problem (StEP) consortium
